Design & Installation
A tested and certified vehicle fire suppression system combined with a reliable fire detection system is the best first line of response in an emergency such as a thermal incident.
Before installing Dafo Vehicle’s fire suppression systems, our technician conducts an onsite fire risk analysis to identify potential fire hazards, and the severity and probability are then assessed. Also, when our technician performs the pilot installation of the fire suppression system, much effort is spent on ways to reduce the material consumption, such as length of piping and cables, etc., to design an optimized fire protection solution for the vehicle. Doing this thoroughly not only will it reduce the material consumption but also reduce the installation time of the forthcoming “serial installation.” This process also includes ways to establish ideal solutions for the installation, e.g., Poka-yoke, and selecting more intelligent solutions, i.e., to block access to critical components that are part of the vehicle’s powertrain.

When vehicle parts and accessories malfunction and cause fires, this can result in severe property damage and injury or even death. Our mission is to determine the root cause of vehicle fires. Whether due to mechanical failure, electrical failure, negligence, or arson, the results are the same; extensive damage, physical injury, or even death. In most instances, the source of ignition energy in motor vehicle fires is the same as those associated with structural fires, arcs, overloaded wiring, open flames, and smoking materials.
Determining the cause of a fire can be complex. Often the reason varies between several indirect or underlying causes beyond the primary cause. For instance, a primary cause of the fire could be a hot surface of the exhaust system igniting combustibles. The main cause may be a ruptured fuel hose caused by abrasion due to a loose attachment caused by a mistake in the workshop.
Our team of experts examines the environment where the fire occurred for evidence in data collection and analysis. We follow strict NFPA 921 guidelines and standards for fire and explosion research. The scientific method determines the most likely origin and cause of the fire. The final hypothesis is determined by using the deductive reasoning of “Probable and Possible,” which are the two levels of certainty defined by NFPA 921.
Ultimately, the goal of a vehicle fire investigation is to accurately determine the cause of the fire and develop a plan to avoid future fire incidents with safer vehicle design and maintenance procedures.
